  •  April - My theme this month is Yoga and new friendships. WOD has been pushed back again.  I start the horror film Forget Me Not in June.  Our family will be traveling back to Indiana for my Uncle Jack's memorial in a few weeks. Uncle Jack was a good man with great values.  He will be misses by all that knew him.  Ghost Whisperer aired April 4th.    Meals on Wheels Bike/walk-a-thon was a success.  www.carlybschroeder.com  The money went directly to feed people that can not get out and feed themselves. I have been hanging out at the beach and surfing some, though the waves have been so small.   Over spring break, I went and checked out a few colleges.

  •  March - my website is back up and running. -  I had two computer crashes. Louie made me a website -- www.carlybschroeder.com   His website looks new and very nice. It also has great information on the upcoming Meals on Wheels April 13th. Please come and ride or sponsor me as I help to feed people in need right here in the United States.    I finished an episode with Jennifer Love last week...April 4th Ghost Whisperer airs on CBS.

  • October - Wow this month is just flying by so quickly.  I went to the homecoming dance with my boyfriend!!!!  It was so much fun dancing all night and seeing friends all dolled up for the occasion.  I have been modeling for Jessica McClintock a lot this month. ---I had another birthday.  The big ONE-SEVEN. --Thank you to all the fans that wrote me a sweet message for my birthday on myspace.  It means so much that you would take time out of your day for me....Thanks!!!    The wildfires are out of control, and the winds are the strongest I have ever seen here in California.   I just confirmed an invitation for: The Melbourne Independent Filmmakers' Festival is coming up Nov. 2-3, and organizer Terry Cronin has announced this year's selections. There were 253 entries, narrowed to 41 selections, including 34 shorts, five features, two previews, 22 Florida films, seven international films, six documentaries and four animated films.
Showings will be at the Premiere Theaters Oaks Stadium 10; get advance tickets here.
Saturday night at 6 p.m., Nov. 3, is the red carpet event, with a screening of "Eye of the Dolphin," produced by Melbourne's John Remark.  - --- Hope to see you there!
  • September- I just got back from the Bahamas - While I was at the dolphin facility a  turtle was brought in for health care.  I got to help repair this beautiful creature.  It had a chunk of meat ripped out of the back of its neck by a gaffer-hook.  I got to water down and clean the turtle.  Then they let me put iodine( or some like that) on the wound.  This turtle was huge; it took 3 guys to carry it from the truck to a stretcher, so it could be taken back out to sea. This could possibly have been the best day of my life.  For more information on how they are trying to save these endangered Sea Turtles please go to this website.  http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/urge-the-bahamas-government-to-ban-the-catching-and-killing-of-endangered-sea-turtles  Turtles have rights too! Her face is covered because she was very angry with her wound.

  • August - I was going to just give you this link .... but I wanted to post this because it is that important.  Over the past few days I have read reviews on Eye of the Dolphin... then I came across this one... BINGO !!  Communication!                    Please read.

Eye of the Dolphin (2007) | Review    For Those With Ears to Hear
Darrel Manson

In Eye of the Dolphin, Alyssa is a troubled teen. She’s recently lost her mother and is in trouble in school (and wearing way too much make-up so we know she’s troubled). When her grandmother can do no more for her, she takes Alyssa to the Bahamas to meet the father she never knew she had (and vice versa). Her father, Dr. James Hawk, is researching dolphin communication in hope of being able to understand them. Alyssa and her father must find a way to rescue her life from the edge of catastrophe. Can they each rescue each other from their troubles?

OK, that sounds a lot like some kind of after school special. And in many ways, it is. That isn’t saying anything bad about it, but it does have a target audience of teens and parents. Such a film may not develop characters and relationships as fully as other films might, but the film is designed to focus on an issue.

The real issue that is dealt with in the film is communication. Communication and its difficulties are central to the storyline. The research into communication with dolphins serves to sets the stage for the challenges that the characters face in their struggles to hear and be heard.

There are many things that get in the way of real communication. One is distraction by other voices. In the film, this is shown through the ear buds that people use while listening to iPods or earphones that Hawk often wears as he listens to the dolphins. These shut out other voices. I think the film thinks it’s a good thing that in her first encounter with the dolphins, they steal Alyssa’s iPod and ruin it.

Yet another obstacle to communication is being too busy. Hawk especially is so consumed with his research that he doesn’t pay attention to those around him, even those who can help or hinder him. It is always easy to put people off when we think we’re doing something important. Often, however, we miss something far more important because we haven’t been ready to listen.

Sometimes we just refuse to listen. Alyssa’s grandmother gave her a stack of letters that Hawk had written to her mother through the years. They are all unopened. Could what was in those letters have made any difference in their lives? Not when the words don’t pass from one person to another.

But the film also shows us that communication is possible. Hawk’s girlfriend Tami takes Alyssa to Tami’s mother’s grave, where she talks to her mother. Here the film begins to tell us that true communication involves a bit of a spiritual level. Communication is not just hearing, but connecting to the other person.

When Alyssa is asked if she thinks dolphins can talk, she says the problem is, “we just don’t know how to listen right.” That insight reflects all the issues that challenge the way the various characters hear (or not) one another. Listening is not just about the words, but in knowing the right way of listening, which involves connecting to one another.

It is that spiritual component to listening that will provide the opportunity for the relationship between Alyssa and her father to grow and for the problems that they face to be overcome.

We too need to pay attention to our communication, be it with the people around us or our communication with God. There are always obstacles to our being heard and to our listening. Often Jesus ended a parable by saying, “Let anyone with ears to hear listen.” He really didn’t mean that listening was a matter only of the ears. He also expects us to listen with our hearts, where true communication takes place.
Okay this is what is coming up: This Tuesday is the Los Angeles Premiere of Eye of the Dolphin at the ArcLight.  And guess who will be there?  My friend George Harris.  Many of you know him as Kingsley Shackle bolt from Harry Potter. And you must admit... he did have the best line in the movie. Well, George is one of the stars in the movie Eye of the Dolphin, so we are going to hanging out this week doing press and meeting fans.  Friday night (around 7:00 ish) the 24th we are going to the opening of EOD down in Orange.  The theater is called  THE BLOCK 30 IN THE CITY OF ORANGE, CA.   September 1st I will be down in San Juan Capistrano, CA at the BLUES CUP TOURNAMENT. Good Luck!  Saturday evening they are going to show GRACIE to the soccer teams and I will be around to meet and greet the athletes.                                                              Here- I was sent this link by a fan.... check it out. Then send it to a friend or two.  http://www.prxreleases.com/wire/index.php/2007/08/09/august-24th-award-winning-movie-eye-of-the-dolphin-dives-into-theaters-across-the-country/?gclid=CKS5kMz48I0CFSKgYAodolf8Mg .                             The month just started but it is very busy.  Eye of the Dolphin hits theaters on August 24th.  It is in only 110 select theaters the first week.  http://www.eyeofthedolph inthemovie.com/contracts/dolphin_locations.php So if it is in your area go see it the first week. .. Because with small independent movies ... they come and go within a week or two.  If you love dolphins, science, or just the beautiful view of the Caribbean... this movie has something for you.  If you would like to go to the premiere of EOD then go to the Eye of the Dolphin myspace and sign up for a contest.    Also, Gracie comes out on DVD on September the 18th.  I am so excited that Gracie will then be available for everyone to see.  I would like to thank all the wonderful people that came out to all of the screenings of Gracie.  I truly enjoyed meeting you.  It was my pleasure.

  • July- Also I do talk to people on myspace.. look up Carly Schroeder. If you have a question ask, I try to answer back within a week.  http://www.alloy.com/5/43/3739/1/ref/archive/5/43/  Check out this site on Alloy.com .  I shot this in Central Park.  It was a blast!!!!  On Saturday I got to see the final draft of Eye of the Dolphin. They added some awesome outtakes at the end of the movie.   I am very pleased with the final product. It does have a PG-13 rating because I smoke and drink at the beginning of the in the movie.  It has to be there to show where my character starts and how she changes during the movie.  I personally do not drink or smoke.  These two factors have to be in the movie to portray real life situations.  EOD has great life lessons for parents and children. I am amazed that we were able to shoot this whole movie in only 4 weeks.  Eye of the Dolphin opens in theaters on August 24th.  Wow! I went up to Isleton to the delta for a 4th of July camping trip. It was legit!!!.  We went waterskiing, wake boarding, jet skiing, and then there was tube time.  Tube time was a blast.  Mark took his boat out and whipped us teenagers around on the water at insane speeds. Stef, cam, and Jeff were amazing the way they hung on even after being flipped. Cabin #5 was so cool.  Bob was a speed water-skiing champ; he has water-ski at speeds over 100mph.  Now that's crazy!  We hung out with some nice people, and I made some great friends. I hope to go back again next year.   I'm on my way to see the Dodger!!!!  GO BLUE!!  Going to see a baseball game is one of my most favorite things to do in life.

  • June-   I finished the tour and Gracie hit the theaters.  We just could not compete with Pirates, green monsters, and spiders.  I have received so many letters, e-mails, and messages disappointed that the movie didn't stay in theaters long enough.  I am sorry if you missed the chance to see Gracie.  Just bad timing.  It will be out on DVD in September sometime. I have to say what disappointed me was that this was a great family film that had a lot to offer, and only a million people got to see it.  If I had the power I would send it to every household for free; but I don't have that kind of power. I finished school.... woo hoo... I am now a Jr. in High School.  Eye of the Dolphin is coming out in theaters in August.

  •  May - 5/30 I met a lot of wonderful people along the way on this tour.  I feel very blessed to have gotten the chance to meet people I would have never known. I would like to say thank you to all of you that came out to see the screenings of GRACIE.  We had a great time didn't we!  The kindness across the United States was overwhelming, and it felt good to hear people cheer and clap for the final moments of the movie.  The crowds truly enjoyed the experience.         4/29 Wow!  I started the Gracie tour across America. I visited Atlanta, St. Louis, and Houston this week. What a great feeling to get out there and meet so many nice people.  It just reinforces that we live in  a great country.  Next weeks we are going to Boston, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, DC, Detroit, and Seattle, Dallas, Denver, LA, San Francisco, New York, New Jersey and Chicago.  MySpace is now under CarlySchroeder; instead of Carlyschroeder2006.  Well, really I think it is under both places.

  • April - Happy Easter everyone..... It is a day to celebrate.  On a different note, I finally went out and bought a car.  Now I have to learn how to drive it.  I am hoping to do a road trip over spring break. Picturehouse is going to be taking over my MYSPACE soon because I will be going on tour to promote GRACIE around the United States.  They are going to show clips  on MYSPACEof what I am doing and where on this planet I am roaming.  It sounds like a blast.  So if I turn my camera on you..... make sure you say you love my movie!!!!!!  I did some GRACIE  promos for Channel ONE today and an interview with Girl's Life mag.   Also on GL online there will be a flip book of Eye of the Dolphin with my personal thoughts.

  • March -On April  11th Elizabeth Shue and I are going to present at the Billy Awards (that is like the Oscars for women's sports). I just found out that I will be touring the whole month of May around the United States to promote GRACIE.  I am going to a different city each day.  I went to the LA fashion show on Friday with my boyfriend.  It was very fun and interesting. It wasn't your typical runway fashion show.  It mirrored art where the models were like mannequins... some were ironing... some playing poker... some just sitting in cars.  It was cool.   I have been doing photo shoots and interview for Gracie.  Here is what is coming up- Nylon  Mag. in May - Teen Vogue in June- Teen Mag in June- Interview Mag. in June or July - Playsoccer in July.  I flew into  Vegas for ShoWest on Monday.  Now that was a good time.  I introduced Gracie to the theater owners.  The screenings went extremely well.  I was also lucky enough to have a room at the top of the Bellagio, so I was able to watch the implosion of the Stardust at 2:30 in the morning. Eye of the Dolphin has won more awards.  WOO HOO!

  • February - I have doing a lot of surfing lately.  I really enjoy getting out there and chillin.  It is so peaceful and the locals are extremely nice to me. I went to a lot of pre-Oscar parties with my cousin Brad.  We had a blast.  Eye of the Dolphin had two major wins last night at the International Family Film Festival.  It won for "Best Drama" and "Best Child Actor."  Everyone that worked on Eye of the Dolphin should be extremely proud of their hard work.

  • January -   PREY is coming out on DVD January 30th.  If you get a chance check it out at Blockbusters or netflix.  My twelve year old brother enjoyed PREY very much.  I am going to  voice over  Eye of the Dolphin the first of February. I am hoping to be cast for this "NAMELESS" project I have been eyeing for a while.  So cross your fingers for me.   I got to see the director's first cut of Gracie and I am very pleased with the movie. I can't wait to share it with everyone in June.  I also found out that I might be doing some promos with David Beckham....  Now that would be outstanding! I have also experience (for the first time) - going to Varsity basketball games.  It is so much fun.  The student yell and the energy of the games are so high that students are always just on the edge of being out of control. Good times and team spirit.  GO GREEN!!!!

  • December - I started a myspace tonight....... I don't know what I am doing, but I wanted to put up a real one so the posers would go away. So stop by and say hello!   http://www.myspace.com/carlyschroeder2006 Today I worked with Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly, and Abby Wambach over at the Home Depot Center.  We are working on a DVD for soccer.  It will help kids improve their game. These three girls are incredible people.  They love what they are doing, and they are thankful everyday to be playing the game.  I am going back in April when it gets into full swing to meet some of the girls.

  • November - Here is a shout out to the person(s) who put up the www.carly-girl.com web site.  My friend told me to go there.  WOW!  It is very impressive.... Thank you for all your time and dedication!  The trailer for Eye of the Dolphin is out http://www.theeyeofthedolphin.com/trailer.htm  The Eye of the Dolphin will be shown for the first time in the Grande Bahamas on the 10th of December. The trailer for PREY is out now.  Check it out!  http://www.prey.co.za/trailer.html    In December, I am going to be working with Mia Hamm on a promo soccer DVD for Gatorade. It will have behind the scenes of Gracie.  That is so cool.

  • October - I didn't get home for my birthday because we were still filming Gracie. Kin Shriner called on my Birthday and said, "It's a great sign to be working on your birthday!"  I could not agree more.  I declined on a car for my birthday because I am still trying to decide what I want.  Instead, I got to take the stylist from Gracie and go on a wild one-day shopping spree in New York.  That was sooooooo much fun!  I shopped until my mom and brother dropped.  It was so incredible.  Also a friend flew out to be with me on my birthday.  We went to see Wicked, took a carriage ride around Central Park, and did some..... you guessed it....SHOPPING. I would love to live in New York someday.

  • September - Filming in New Jersey was a good time. (except for my friends that would call around 10:00 pm  or later forgetting there was a three hour time difference.)   About Gracie ...First of all let me say, " My soccer boys are the BEST!"  I had so much fun with these guys.  They played in the rain, heat, cold temps, and all night when they had too.  They were so inspiring because of their passion for the game. I had the best time on this movie.  Unforgettable...Elizabeth Shue and Andrew Shue have renamed me Carly Shue because I am part of their family now.  I wear that title proudly.  I have never put so much energy into a movie.  Each day, I was either physically challenged by soccer or  my day was filled with emotional scenes. This movie and Davis G. have made me a better actress because Davis went for specific details, and we connected artistly.  This was a story about his wife  and her family, so he could express exactly what he needed in each scene.

  • August - Here is my Fan mail address:  1560 Newbury Rd. Suite #167    Newbury Park, CA 91320.  I know many people have sent fan mail to other addresses....I am sorry but this is my only fan mail site a present. And please, please, please, send a 8x10 self-addressed stamped envelope, so I can return them to you faster.  OKAY, this is my system....it is easy...I'm a kid... I do all the SASE (self-addresses stamped envelopes) first...the rest  I do a little at a time when I have spare time.   I leave tomorrow for New Jersey to begin filming on GRACIE. You teenage girls are going to love this movie...not only does Gracie have a soccer theme, but it is filled with teenage boys!!!   I will be back mid- October just before my sweet sixteen birthday.  Then I will be driving Yikes!

  • July - I am working out every day in Pasadena at Catz. We are working hard and having a blast. Catz has such a positive atmosphere. Jim and A G (Froggy) energy levels are so high and positive that it diverts your mind off the deep burn. Check it out- search -   Catz Sports / Pasadena. If you are in sports and you hope to hit your highest potential then you should train here. The results are amazing.  In a month, I will be really for the lashings from the guys soccer team.  I am also learning a few smooth soccer moves from Dan Calichman. Dan used to play for the LA Galaxy. The man has skills.   I am so stoked about working on this movie!  I just finished sending out all my fan mail as of today 7/9/06. WOOOO HOOO!!!! So if you don't receive a picture from me within 2 weeks (depending on the country) then I did not get your letter.  I answered all my mail.  Sometimes it takes a while to answer all of it.... like last year when I was out of country from February until November. It took a while(6 months to be exact)  but I can say "I am caught up!"  I even did a Flat Stanley for a school in South Carolina.  I took Flat Stanley all over Hollywood.
  • June-This past weekend I did my most favorite charity event. The "Run for Life" Jonathan Jacques cancer run. I love every minute of this event.  I am in training for GRACIE. I travel to Pasadena everyday to do weight training at Catz.  I have to play against large boys in the movie, so they want to make sure I am physically fit to take the beatings.  On September 9th, I will be the Grand Marshall in the Valparaiso, (Orville Redenbacher's home town), POPCORN FESTIVAL this year. This is a great honor, and I am thrilled to represent the youths of the community.  I saw the first cut of Eye of the Dolphin last week.  This means we are getting closer to having a release date. Watching the dolphins in the film makes me miss them so much. Plus, they did such a great job. The film really gives the feel of how magical these creatures are and how they check a new person out.   They are so curious, and each has their own personality.  The young boy dolphin Brielan was a show off, and he knew he was cute.  If I was having a conversation with someone  on the dock, he would to continue to  jump up and look at me or do tricks until I gave him my full attention.  I would tell him he was sooooo cute and he would then circle around below watching me with one eye and that dolphin smile.
  • May - Today was my last day of school.  I am heading to Indiana tomorrow. I have so many plans. I will be all over the place.  I am going bowling with my cousins.  I am going to be in a horseshow with my Auntie Kimmy.  I am going to go to my Auntie Tracey's school to check out her Art.  I plan to go see my Kindergarten teacher and hang with some of my Midwest friends.  I will be with my grandmothers for Mother's Day.  They are thrilled. I will be working at my Aunt Cindy's Cold Stones on Thursday night, May 11th so stop by can grab some yummy ice cream.

  • April - I have been taking Drivers Education. I just finished the classroom portion.  I hit the roads next week.  So if you live in California stay off the roads Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.   I did get one of the movies I was hoping to film. It is in negotiations as we speak.  Whoo hoo  I got the other film I wanted.  I will announce the Titles as soon as all negotiations are settled, and I begin to film. I am planning a trip back to Indiana the first week of May.  I can't wait to see my horse and go riding.  Oh yes, I can't wait to see my family too.  (of course !!!!!)

  • March - Wow time is flying by this year.  I have been working on school like crazy.  High school is taking up loads of my time.  I have been jamming on  my guitar a couple times a week just to get away from school.  I have my sights set on two scripts that I would like to do, but they don't film until June and July. I worked with Jessica McClintock on a three day modeling job.  I enjoyed every minute of it. What 15 year old wouldn't want to play dress up all day?

  •  February - Oh my gosh, I had the best time at the Firewall premiere.  I enjoyed every minute of it.  Jessica McClintock sent me the most perfect dress. If you want to see the premiere pictures go to  www.wireimage.com  and type in my name or Firewall.  It was my most favorite premiere yet.  My friend and I had a wonderful time.  I will be posting my very own pictures soon in the scrapbook.  I am invited to  Jake Thomas's 16th birthday party this weekend.  I can't believe we both turn 16 this year.  Time has flown since those Lizzie days.  Also, come chat with me at www.Teenhollywood.com .  Teen Hollywood is setting up a chat for February 9th at 2:00.  This is the day before Firewall Premieres in Theaters.

  • January 2006- Wow a whole year has past. I am working on PR for Firewall.  I haven't been to LA for a month, and I was quite taken back when I drove into Burbank the other day and saw the poster for Firewall on a 2 story building.  IT was crazy.  I found out the World Premiere is February 2nd. I am stoked.  I am going to take a  good friend with me. Jessica McClintock is sending me a dress for the premiere, and I can't wait to see it. I was invited  into the editing room to see parts of Eye of the Dolphin.  Wow, the film really captures beautiful of the Bahamas.  I am excited about seeing the finished product. I will begin looping (ADR) for Prey in February.  I hope to finish up these two films in February.  Oh, I found out today that they are pulling a scene out of Firewall where Virginia and I are in the car.  They are going to use it in a Chrysler commercial.  That is so cool.  Seven of my dear friends and I went to the "family and friends" screening of Firewall in Santa Monica.  Everyone loved the movie. Harrison is absolutely fabulous in the movie. Harrison has to be one of my most favorite people I have ever met, because he is hard working, generous, and thoughtful . Harrison made my guest feel very welcomed at the after party.  My girl, Bridget Moyanhan, also came to support me.  What a sweetheart.

  • December - I am taking a month off to relax and enjoy friend and family.  A few good friends and I did our 2nd annual Knott's Berry Farm outing.  Rollercoasters are always a thrill. Our big plans to go to Big Bear skiing were shot down for lack of snow.  I am working really hard on my studies.  I had to catch up for being gone so long.  And believe me I get cut zero slack.  I turn in everything my classmates do.  I have been watching the weekly freshman baseball games at the school (I would  have attended) if I wasn't home schooled this year. Not a bad view. Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Years too.

  • November - Okay, Harry Potter at the I-Max was outrageous.  I just saw the trailer for Firewall.  Go to  Moviefone. http://movies.aol.com/movie_exclusive_firewall_trailer  or go to....
Then go to Firewall trailer.  Today it was the feature trailer so it comes right up.  One of the posters for THE EYE OF THE DOLPHIN was just sent to me.  Check  it out www.theeyeofthedolphin.com FIREWALL COMES OUT FEBRUARY 10TH.  The movie WE ALL FALL DOWN  is hitting all the festivals right now, so if you get a chance go watch it.  Check out the trailer: www.wafdmovie.com .

  • October - BLUE 14  is now called  THE EYE OF THE DOLPHIN.  I just saw the movie FIREWALL at a private screening in Burbank.  Oh my goodness it is a very exciting movie.  My family back in Indiana is going to love it.  I am heading up to Canada to shoot three more scenes for FIREWALL. I will be gone until  the second week of November. October 1st,I am back home in California, and I was greeted by wildfires. YIKES!  Everyday in South Africa was an adventure.  Now I have to hit the  school books hard before heading back to the Bahamas to finish BLUE 14/THE EYE OF THE DOLPHIN.

  • September - My father and brother came to South Africa for a visit.  I got 3 days off, so we went sight-seeing.  We took a trip into Soweto with our friends Thuli, Vincent, and Vusi.  We visited Nelson Mandela's first home.  We ate a Wandies and went to the Hector Peiterson memorial.  Then we grabbed a Quarter (bunny chow) huge sandwich with french fries, fried egg, baloney, sausage, fish, sauce, and meat on a loaf of french bread.   You have to sit on this sandwich to get it into your mouth.  We then went to the Apartheid museum. WOW!  .... My family then went on an elephant back safari. I got an elephant all to myself.  We also took a 3 hour jeep safari and saw amazing animals.  The leopard was my favorite.  We went to a lion park where Hunter and I got to feed a giraffe and hold baby lion cubs. It was so cool!!!  Giraffes are my new favorite animal along with dolphins, lions, and horses. We went to the Cullian diamond mine where I bought some ~bling~ .  NICE!  The gold mine was interesting because we went down hundreds of feet into the main shaft. We went to the Cradle of Humankind and down into a  cave where the first (oldest) ape-man was discovered.  My father and brother went home and our location for the film moved to Limpopo.  We finished the movie then my mom and I went on a vacation safari to Sabi Sands.  What an adventure.  One night we had a leopard on our deck, and the next evening a herd of 12 elephant surrounding our bungalow. The following night a lion began roaring at 2:00 in the morning and did not stop until dawn.

  • August - South Africa is totally different than what I expected.  It was not so hot only dry, and the people are oh so friendly. PREY is about an American family that takes a trip to Africa.  Bridget Moynahan is my new step-mother that I am not so fond of because I feel she has ripped my parents apart.  My father heads out on a business trip, and he sends us (3)out on a safari. Well, let's just say the safari goes bad. It is like JAWS meets PHONE BOOTH or  JURASSIC PARK  with lions. My brother, Connor Dowd, is from South Africa.  He was a very nice and sweet kid.  This will be a thriller  to watch because it was fueled on high adrenalin while making it.  I sat in the safari  jeep with Bridget and Connor filming while a 500 lb. lion was on the roof.  What happened when I started screaming.... well let's just say the lion did not like it one bit. *note: the lions did not fancy me at all.  They did not want to be my friend.

  • July - Okay so I didn't get the three days off before I headed to South Africa, but that is the way it goes. South Africa was amazing.  I spent 9 weeks there working with lions.  It was very scary yet exciting.

  • June- Note* Eye of the Dolphin is now Blue 14.   I just finished the The Wrong Element/Firewall.  What a great experience.  I can't wait to see the finished product.  I made some great friends on this movie.... some real keepers!   That is always a huge bonus. I leave tomorrow for the Bahamas to shoot BLUE 14.  The first three days are dolphin training. How cool....plus I believe Johnny Depp is down there somewhere on a boat filming "pirates".   As soon as I finish BLUE 14 I have 3 days off before I fly to in South Africa.  I am filming a thriller down there called PREY.   I won't be back for a while so have a great summer!

  • May -  Back filming on theFIREWALL.  We are heading up to Kamloops in a week or so to finish the movie.  This film is really getting exciting.   Both production are trying to adjust scheduling so I can do both The FIREWALL and RV.  They think they may have it worked out.

  • April- I am home for a few weeks.  Wow! It is so warm in California.

  • March-  Filming on the FIREWALL is going great.  Harrison is a sweetheart.  Paul Bettany is so charming.  Virginia is a doll face, and she makes me laugh so hard.  Canada is interesting because we are adapting to living the big city life.  We have only driven our car a couple times.  I had a good friend come up and spend spring break with me.  We a had a total blast taking the ferry  over to Victoria on the weekend. In Vancouver we hung out playing guitar, swimming, checking out the Capilanio suspension bridge, and going to Storyeum.

  • February - I came down from Canada for the weekend.  The Independent Spirit Awards were fantastic.  That was truly a great time.  I met a lot of interesting people/stars. It was a wonderful night for MEAN CREEK.  Check out my new pictures under Scrapbook - Cold Case & We All Fall Down.  I am off to Canada.

  • January 2005-If your get a chance pick up W magazine (FEB 2005)   WE ALL FALL DOWN  is a blast.  It is a period piece, and I get the wear these awesome dress-up dresses.  Yesterday my wardrobe was great. I got to wear jammies all day long to film.  The directors are twins (Matt and Ross)  They are hilarious, plus they both agree on everything...how does that work....my brother and I can't even agree on where we will sit in the car.?!   20th -Today is the last day of school until I finish the two movies. It is exciting, but also sad.   I am really going to miss all my friends.  Thank goodness for IMing and text messaging. I Start We all Fall Down tomorrow.  As soon as I finish filming We All Fall Down,  I fly to Canada for 4 months to film The Wrong Element. The Abercrombie and Fitch Spring 2005 promotional catalogue  is out in stores now. I'm the one up on the statue with the paper crown.  I will be playing Charity Yates in Matt and Ross Duffer's movie WE ALL FALL DOWN. I have to work on perfecting an old English accent.  Mean Creek will be out on DVD and rentable in my area on January 25th.    Great news back home!  My Aunt and Uncle are opening a Cold Stones ice creamery in Valparaiso.  I am thrilled.  My Aunt said I could come work for her this summer.  I love Cold Stones!  I believe they are having a grand opening March 1st.  Happy New Year to everyone!   I had the best New Years Eve Ever!!!!!

  • December - I spent the month of December hanging with family and friends.  We took in about 20 movies over the holidays!   A girlfriend came out from Indiana for a week.  We did it all from surfing one day to playing in the snow the next day.  We had a blast at Knott's riding all the roller-coasters with a few of my classmates.  Our free time was spent shopping at the malls.

  • November -(This year the Spirit Awards Nominating Committee chose to give a Special Distinction Award to the ensemble cast of MEAN CREEK.  In the words of the Nominating Committee, "These young actors turned in performances so uniformly unselfish, and so intricately in tune with one another, that it became impossible to single any one of them out from their extraordinary achievement together.  Their work is of such high quality that it moves beyond craft to achieve that mysterious truth and beauty that constitutes the finest acting." )I found out after school today that I will be playing Harrison Ford's daughter in his next film The Wrong ElementONE LAST CHANCE TO SEE MEAN CREEK on the big screen before it comes out on DVD.  Sunday November 21 at New Beverly Cinema - 7165 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles. Show times are 3:50 and 7:30 Watch Cold Case Nov. 7th on CBS.   I did a segment on Soap Talk just this past Saturday.  We had a really good time.  They let me jump on a couch.  I am not allowed to do that so it was sooooooo much fun. GO VOTE!

  • October - I am working this week for Abercrombie and Fitch.  I haven't done print work since I was five, so I am extremely excited. Plus, it is A&F who wouldn't be excited.  Cold Case will air November 7th or 14th .  It is the seventh show of the season. Studio 22&27 has to be the happiest crew I have ever worked with as of to date. Emilio Estevez was the director, and he did a very nice job. I am quite proud of this piece of work.

  • September -News Flash!  I start working on Cold Case next Wednesday.  I am doing an episode called Sleepover.  It is an amazing script.  I can't believe summer is gone and school has started.  I think I am the only kid excited about going back to school.  My friends think I am crazy.  I just find school very exciting.  On the Hollywood side.... I have my hands on 3 scripts that I would really like to do this year.  My fingers are crossed.

  • August has been a whizz-Bang! Mean Creek is getting a tremendous Buzz.  The audiences really enjoy the movie.  I just got home  from a two week tour with Mean Creek.  New York was wonderful and busy.  It reminds me of Paris because of its charm and history.  I can't wait to go back to NY and stay longer.  I want to check out Central Park.  Our hotel overlooked Central Park and every morning we could here the horses clomping around the park, but we never found the time to go into this massive greenery. - It felt soothing to be back in Chicago.  Some of my childhood memories of Chicago have faded, so it is nice for my mom to refresh my mind with the sites and buildings.  I did get to dip down into Indiana for 2 days and see family and ride horses with my auntie Kim.

  • July - I will be traveling to New York for Mean Creeks premiere on August 12th.  I have never been to New York, so I am very excited.   Then over to Chicago for press and the Chicago screening on the 16th.  The Mean Creek trailer is out  It is Awesome!!! Go to www.meancreekmovie.com   and check it out.  Mean Creek won the Humanitas for Sundance.   I am heading out to go to Stunt School for the day. Please note that they pushed our spot back because ET needed to run the story of Sam Donaldson's Ranch??( I think that is his name)...Sorry. The exclusive Mean Creek trailer premiere will appear on TV on Entertainment Tonight Friday night, July 16, 2004.  Watch it with some friends!   Happy 4th to all.  If you get a chance go visit Yosemite, because the sights are breathe-taking and the bears are cool to watch.  I am back at developing my kids reality show and working on a Documentary.

  • June - LA Films Fest-  Mean Creek screens June 21st @ 7:00.  I am heading out to  Yosemite for two weeks of relaxation!  Then I will start a Documentary piece the end of June or Beginning of July.  What a great time.  I will put up the Paris ones soon.   Big NEWS!  Mean Creek will premiere on August 9th here in LA!!!!!!!!

  • May - Wow!  What a great trip to France. I have learned one fabulous thing from the French - KICK BACK AND ENJOY LIFE.  The French Rivera was very beautiful and busy.   Busy only because it was the Cannes Film Festival, and I was promoting Mean Creek.  We did days of photos shoots, interviews, premiers, and press conferences.  Don't get me wrong, it was not all work.   Producer Susan Johnson and I loved running down the beach at midnight and checking out the hot guys everywhere.  We had some of the most tantalizing dinners in Cannes.   The atmosphere is none I have ever experienced.  People just love being with other people.  Life rotates around meals.  Then we headed to Paris.  Okay, I did not want to leave Paris.  Paris is so full of life and history.  It is the town of privileged and culture.  In 5 days, this is what we did; Louvre (three times) it is huge, Orsay, Notre Dame (twice) once for mass and once to visit the bell tower, Musee Auguste Rodin -the thinker, Arc de Tromphe, Eiffel Tower, Musee de l'Armee, Versailles Chateau, Batobus tour up and down the Seine River, and a 14 hour bus tour out to Mont Saint Michel - 14th century castle and over to Normandy.  Plus we did a whole lot of shopping, and I ate ice cream three times a day.  Hey, I was on vacation.  It was a trip I will never forget.

  • April- My mother and I are heading over to France on May 12th.  My movie Mean Creek will premier on Friday night, I am so excited. I hear we are having a big after-party on the beach. I never thought I would be at a party on the Mediterranean Sea.  We are going to Cannes first, then Nice, and then onto Paris for 5 days. I have been working on my French, so far, I can be very polite. That is about it.  I hope the French like polite Americans. I also know how to get bread, cheese, soup, and salad.   I will survive. -  Hey if your interested in Whitewater rafting come join us over Mother's Day Weekend!  Kids With a Cause is having their 3rd annual Camping and whitewater rafting trip.

  • March -We are going to Cannes!!!! Oh I hope I see my favorite pirate Johnny.    3/5/04 Okay - My mother and I just finished  mailing the last 400 pieces of fan mail.  It is all officially out!  So if you don't receive a letter from me in the next two weeks to a month (depending on the country you live in) then I did not receive it.  Ren-Mar doesn't send my mail through.  General Hospital and Port Charles is in the process of stopping.  Kid with a Cause sends it weekly or Monthly at their convenience.  This is basically to tell all you fans, that we have responded to every piece of fan mail.

  • February - My grandma Jean came out from Indiana for a month.  We went to the Grand Canyon and San Francisco.  I am very busy developing a teen reality show with a writer friend of mine.  We hope to start pitching it in March.  If it works out, I will post the great news.  I have been reading hordes of scripts because you know it is pilot season.  I haven't found one fit for me yet (most characters are at least 3 years older than me), but tomorrow is another day and another script. I have never been part of the pilot season.  It's a crazy wild time in Hollywood.  I didn't see it but everyone at school says that I was on VH1/ or MTV  Sunday night with Hailey Duff.  It was showing our Sundance expericence.  Also some sundance pictures are up under Scrap Book II page 6.   WooooHOOOO!  Paramount bought MEAN CREEK last night. I am so wildly thrilled for the producers and director/writer. MEEK CREEK is going to theaters. Now we wait to hear if we go to Cannes.

  • January2004    1/28/04 I just got back from Sundance.  What an experience of a lifetime. All of the cast came except Josh, he had to work.  And we missed him very much.  It was a working trip but well worth it.  Everyone seemed to love the MEAN CREEK. You have to check out the website www.meancreekmovie.com . It was great to watch an audience react to the different parts.  It was terrific that they laughed in the right places, gasped in the right places, and actually clapped in the right places.  It was overwhelming to see it all come together.  I was so proud of everyone in the movie because they did an exceptional job. I totally love the music by the waterfall.  We did manage time to play.  The house the producers leased had a huge hill beside it covered with snow.   We built ramps and did some wild sledding on our off time(day and night). MEAN CREEK  has special meaning to me because of the friendships I made, not only the cast but the producers too. **** note: side story****  While we were at Sundance my brother and dad were traveling up to join us, but on the way they were in a major car  accident and became hospitalized in Southern Utah.  The producers of Mean Creek dropped everything and drove my mother and I seven hours to the hospital. (My brother and dad have recovered, and they are doing well) We will never forget what they did for our family.  Rick, Hagai, and Susan are amazing people.   1/02/04 GOT MILK? I can't believe they brought that back out.  I was eight when I shot that.   It is my most favorite commercial.  Though, I do like my Shakin' Bake commercial.  May I just say that Winter Break was perfect.  I got to have my friends over a lot.  We had a Monopoly day,a Christmas luncheon with BINGO, two days out to the movies and pizza, and a trip to Big Bear to play in the snow. One of my friends had never seen snow.  The day after Christmas we went to Santa Anita race track.   My brother and I were invited to ride in the carriage before the first race.   We were right next to the jockeys. Hunter is the same size as the jockeys.   The horses were magnificent.

  • December - I hope to have some new pictures up soon. Okay -for all of you that try out for parts and don't get them don't feel bad.  I just went to a network testing for a series.  In the end, I didn't get the part, and I was bummed.   They said I was too poised.  Well, I went to bed at 6:00 and woke up the next day at 7:00.  I was refreshed and ready to move on to the next project.  Don't ever give up because there might be something great around the corner.  I believe I am going to a luncheon next week to listen to Condoleezza Rice.  I am sure all of you know that she is the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs.  My fingers are crossed in hopes we can get tickets.  In January, I begin guitar lesson and fencing classes.  I have waited 4 years to take fencing classes.  I think that is going to be the bomb. 12/01/03  I am wild out of my mind excited.  I just found out that the movie I did this summer, MEAN CREEK, is going to Sundance.   I will be going to the Sundance festival January 17th thur 24th.  Oh what great fun this trip will be with all my pals. And hopefully a few days of skiing in too.

  • November-  Thank you to everyone that came an built a bear.....540 bears were built and sent out THANKS!!!   I will be at the OAKS MALL this Saturday(NOVEMBER 8th) in Thousand Oaks, CA.  My brother and I will be first in line at BUILD A BEAR.   We will be making bears to send to the kids that lost their homes to the resent California Wildfires. So if you want to help out and make a bear.... we will see you on the 8th.   NEWS FLASH - I just saw the first cut of MEAN CREEK...I am very impressed with all the actors.  I am thrilled that I was part of this movie.  It is definitely for a mature audience.....13 and above. My boy friend and I are 13 but the rest of the actors play   16 - 23.   I was asked today to be in the Hollywood Parade on November 30th.  But we can't attend.  The IMDB is a great place to check out.   It tells you about actors and movies.  11/01/03-I was invited to see the first cut of MEAN CREEK.   I am very excited.  I miss being in Oregon and hanging with the fellas.   What a great group of guys.

  • October - Okay, I am now officially a thirteen year old!  Look out world.  I had the best party with some of  my friends. Over one hundred kids rocking out on Saturday night. Check out the pictures from the ROLLERBASH, on page 5 of Scrap Book II.  I have to say I am so lucky because at the beginning of this school year the kids were really REALLY nice to me and made me feel welcome. What a blessing.   I really like my school because my new friends are totally awesome.  We talk very little about the movie business and just hang out and be teenagers.  We hang with some guy friends that look out for me, and I think that is very cool.  Every weekend there has been either  birthday parties or dances to go to, so my social calendar has been rocking!!!!

  • September - I just started a new school and, I love it!  The kids are cool and my teachers are great.  This is going to be my best year ever.  I am planning my 13th birthday party bash.  I am finally going to be a teenager in   October.  WOOO HOOO!  I am debating on the theme of the party. Rollerbash or Hawaiian beach party.

  • August- Just got back from Oregon/Washington from filming "Mean Creek".  It's a story about revenge and how an innocent prank can turn deadly with the snap of your fingers.  I worked  with a bunch of great people from LA., New York, Chicago, and Oregon.  I will post some pictures real soon.   I made some great life-long friends like Kori and Ryan Kelley and Trevor Morgan (which says he is going to marry me when he is 30.) We worked extremely hard on Mean Creek, but we also hung out and went to a lot of movies together.     Mean Creek is about  a day in the life of six kids, and I was the only girl. I learned more about how boys think and talk than I ever wanted to know. The huge bonus, this summer, was working without schooling!

  • July- I am in Portland Oregon working on a movie.  I'll be back late August. So if you see me in Portland say hey!

  • June- I just booked a movie. I am a lead..Yahooo! My mom and I are working hard to finish all the present day fan mail before we leave.  We hope to finish it up by next Monday.(Fat chance)  Thanks for all the cards and letters. It is amazing and at times overwhelming the amount mail I receive, but I do my best to respond once to everyone.

Last month, I learned about the thousands of children across America that are taken from their home due to abandonment, neglect and/or abuse. Many of these children go to bed at night without a personal item to snuggle.  I want to make these children feel better.   I want to make them all cozy blankets, and write a personal note telling them how much I care.  I want children to care about other children.  I would like kids and adults to help me make these blankets.  Check out PROJECT:SNUGGLE-UP to see what I am doing to help these kids. See how easy it is for you to help too.
